Dealing With Stress In Your Life
Stress. We all have to deal with it in our life. It’s insidious how it snakes into your life. The one thing that always gets put on the back burner is exercise. It’s the easiest thing to give up and it’s remarkable how fast such a healthy habit can take the back seat and be nearly forgotten. Then you wonder where all your stress is coming from, why you’re gaining weight or if you have any friends……
I’m very imperfect in keeping to my schedule when my life is disrupted. Since the foot break and not being allowed to do anything for about 6 months, it seems like the fates are trying to keep me home. I DON’T LIKE IT! Weather has been awful (hello 25+ mph winds and rain!), we have all the kids full time now — which is great, but I feel pulled in so many directions — my job is more stressful (but I sure do love what I do!) and I’ve had lots of nighttime meetings, gas prices are up and I don’t want to pay to drive 50 miles round trip to go for a run.
Moving will remedy quite a bit of the distance issues so in another month I’ll have more options that are closer. YAY! Work is work and it’s great so I’ll just have to maneuver around those meetings when they happen. Kids are more on board with coming to the marina and Reno Running Company, so especially with less mileage (and less time away) I can get my run on. Plus I’ll be moving closer to LOTS of my runner friends. Change can be such a good thing.
